Peptaibol: Pep|ta|i|bol [Kunstw. aus Peptid, Aminoisobuttersäure u. α-Aminoalkohol], das; -s, -e: von Pilzen produzierte niedermol. Peptid-Antibiotika, die 2-Amino-2-methylpropionsäure (Aib) u. einen endständigen, durch Red. von Aminosäuren entstandenen Alkohol enthalten. Die P. wirken als Elicitoren u. induzieren in Pflanzen die Bildung von Phytoalexinen u. Kairomonen u. lösen Rankenbewegungen aus.
